Any breed of terrier, dachshund or mix of earthworking breeds owned by a BWTA  member is eligible for this certificate.
Terrier to be awarded working points must willingly locate the quarry underground in  a natural earth (man-made earths are not
acceptable).
The terrier must be totally out of sight underground.
The terrier must bay at the quarry in such a manner that the hunt person would be able to locate the terrier even without an electronic
collar.  (PLEASE NOTE:  FOR SAFETY AN ELECTRONIC COLLAR SHOULD ALWAYS BE USED WHEN HUNTING
YOUR TERRIER.)
The terrier must work until the quarry is drawn or dug to.  Work is defined as barking, digging, lunging, biting and worrying the quarry.
The terrier must either bolt or draw the quarry, or, there must be no doubt that the terrier is working right up to the quarry.  This will
require that the hunt person dig to the terrier and quarry.
Acceptable quarry are groundhog, fox, opossum, and raccoon, other quarry maybe considered upon request.
The 5 points for this award will count only if the quarry is in season, only three certificates will count toward the year end award tally.
Points will not count from March 1 - May 1 as this is the time that there are babies in the dens.
